Intercampus Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Doctoral Admission Requirements

Students wishing to enter the Ph.D. program in biochemistry are asked to submit a completed pre-application form on-line. Approval will normally be based upon undergraduate grades (cumulative B average or better), letters of recommendation, Graduate Record Examination (graduate school code 5848, biochemistry program code 0202) scores (minimally 1700 or 1200 using the newer scoring system), and, wherever possible, personal interviews. Previous success in graduate education will be taken into consideration. Below are links to the pre-application, the full on-line application, and links to hardcopy application forms and our Program Handbook. If you have any questions about the application process and/or the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Program at the University of Maryland, please do not hesitate to contact our Program Coordinator, Kathleen S. Reinecke, or one of the Program Directors: David J. Weber, Mike Summers.
